Man in City of Dallas Jacket Loots Capital One Bank

On October 23, 2017 at approximately 9:30 a.m., the Capital One Bank in the 6100 block of Retail Road was robbed. Wearing a camo cowboy hat and a City of Dallas jacket the suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, despite the bank having a mandatory security system.

The police is still in look out of this man who looked somewhat in his mid 40s, 5’8” tall, and 170 pounds. According to them, he was wearing a reflective jacket, black Jordan basketball shorts with white stripe and white mirrored sunglasses when last seen.

Though the annual report on national crime statistics (2016) released by FBI points out a continued decrease in property crimes, incidents like the above still continue.  Businesses that come without proactive security systems are easy targets for thieves as it helps them to get away with the loot easily enough.

Traditional alarm systems have long proven that they are a bad bet in preventing burglaries in time. Authorities tend to dismiss such alerts as they will normally be false and for the owners, it creates headaches in the form of penalties as well. But for those who sneak in, such alarms are allies in crime as they seldom catch the attention of authorities. If you need statistics, between 94-99 percent of burglar alarm calls made in the country are false and it costs us billions every year. No doubt many police departments tend to disregard the calls when a real alarm happens.

Most security systems have technical limitations

And it makes them poor at burglar prevention. High tech burglars these days know how to disarm such basic security alarm systems and have become skilled at avoiding the motion detectors. Besides, it takes about seconds to deliver the message, within which the robbers would have done their job. And the response time, if at all a burglar alarm is detected for real, takes around 2-3 hours even in major cities.

Even guards aren’t the best bet

Security guards are another option that many rely upon to protect their valued assets. But using guards to watch over your property only makes sense if you have a large area that needs surveillance or if you have multiple buildings. Besides guards are more likely to show up late or fall asleep during duty or may get attacked by robbers leading to more expenses apart from the high cost of maintaining them.

The reason why alarm machines and CCTV cannot function alone is they come unmanned. And the reason why security guards fail to proactively prevent crime is they are not armed with information. So to avail foolproof protection for your commercial building/business what you need is not machines and men working independently of each other. You need them working together.
