It is very important to protect warehouses as they are usually subject to various criminal activities such as robbery and destruction. Warehouses without proper security are the main marks for criminals. There have been several instances where burglars broke into warehouses and stole a substantial amount of goods. Another problem that most warehouses have apart from inadequate security is the unavailability of security officers watching the video feeds from the live monitoring Service system. On occasions like this, crimes can occur hitch free because there is no one watching the live feeds. It is also very important to note that warehouse crimes can occur internally. Most of the time, the truck drivers can be anywhere in the warehouse without jurisdiction. On occasions like this, it gives the drivers a sufficient opening to steal without been noticed. Outlined below are the various ways you can decrease the warehouse theft by improving the security.

Prohibition of Personal Vehicles in Restricted Areas

The restricted areas in the warehouse are the shipping and recycling areas. Visitors and employees alike are not allowed to park near the shipping doors as this will give them the chance to steal without detection.

Restrict Truck Drivers from Certain Areas

Restrict truck drivers from walking freely around the warehouse property. Give them a place they can stay and rest while the load is being offloaded or loaded. It is important that this place that you provide for them should not have any access to the warehouse and is properly protected by a security guard.

Goods Should Not Be In Loading Areas

To ensure that warehouse theft is reduced, you have to ensure that you do not make it too easy for the thieves to get their way. This starts by ensuring that all goods are in the clear zone and far away from the loading areas. This will help to improve the warehouse security tremendously.

Install a Video Monitoring System with Hired Operators

This video surveillance system will help in a great way to improve the warehouse security as every area in the warehouse will be covered. In the event of any suspicious activity, the hired third-party video operators will sound the burglar alarm and notify the authorities. The hired operators will also be able to remotely access the gates and follow the movement of drivers in the occasion of suspicion with a very good remote video monitoring facility.

From time immemorial, there has never been entirely replacing the human element in security systems, and this has still been the case even with the spiraling cost of the workforce that has wholly changed the labor markets. Also, the most heavily designed of burglar alarms are no match for the versatility that people bring to the field of security and protection systems.

The thinking ability of people as compared to machines

Despite the tremendous advancements made in electronics and the use of logic systems, there can never be getting past the thinking power that a human being possesses. It takes operations to a different level once the operator is integrated into the system and this has been seen with the most expensive and elaborate of security systems.

Naturally, it is justified when folks try to stick to the age-old and time-tested method of using guards to protect property than use some burglar alarm. There are of course a lot of benefits to this approach, but it must be pointed out that guards do have a few setbacks that make them merely unworkable.

Fatigue: This could be the most human of elements when working long hours and this is one factor that put a brake on the best of performers no matter the field that is under consideration. The typical machine can work continuously without any fatigue been noticed. In an actual situation, the fatigue factor would necessitate the use of shifts to keep the people on the job fresh and sharp.

Wages: As the standards of living across the world increases, it is only natural that it gets increasingly costly to use workforce. A factor that works to the advantage of machines as compared to the manual system is that there is very little by way of a recurring cost in a mechanized set up as compared to a manual method.

Dependability: How dependable are your people? Who looks after them? Are they trained enough to handle your security needs ? The answer could well hinge on the factors involved. Hence it would be better to use a system that is best described as fail proof than to rely on a system that is prone to failure.

The next step in security systems

As considered above, it would thus be sensible to use a system that uses human resources to the least extent and something that is best a hybrid of the two. This is typically what live video monitoring seeks to achieve. There is an overbearing use of technology, but the controlling feature does lie with the human operators, and thus the thinking element is retained as best as could be done.

The camera system keeps the use of human resources to the minimum and employs technology to the best possible extent. It is possible to bring a more professional approach by focusing on the few people that are in the system, and this is bound to produce results that are dependable as well as reliable at best. A higher level of training and quality personnel can be made use of in this method at all times.

A simple application of the mind on the functioning of the typical burglar alarms would point to a number of factors that could affect the efficient working of the system.  It must be said of the simpler forms of alarms that there are some factors that make them unreliable in a number of situations and a proper understanding of the finer aspects of the alarms must be made.

The typical static burglar alarm design can bring forth a simple time factor and a typical on/off mindset.  The complex operating standards that have since evolved in this field would make these factors rather important as not to be ignored at any time.

A brief look is taken at how these elements work to change the way alarm systems are to be considered in the present times.

The binary effect

What was earlier described as the on/off effect is typically the simpler manner of describing the binary effect.  This is the situation that an alarm is only activated to take counteraction when set off.  Till this time, no matter how grave a situation is brought about, the alarm does not function or get to act in any way.

Considering that there are a lot of situations where the situations are so important as to make it necessary to take corrective action as soon as an intrusion is detected and not wait for the triggering effect to take place.  This could be the typical scenario that commercial spaces are subjected to when time is the essence as far as a deterrent factor is concerned.

The factor of lead time to break-ins or intrusions

Typically a burglary occurs when the first perimeters are breached and not exactly when the alarm is set off.  In modern crime situations, this small time gap is the advantage that a seasoned criminal would want to use to the best benefit.  A system that could deny the burglar this seemingly a small an advantage is what would ensure the integrity of spaces most of the time.

There is another way the lead time comes into play and that is with the typical use of a burglar system of a time delay that is used to disarm an alarm in use.  This is typically what are being used at most domestic uses of burglar alarms.  A properly prepared burglar can put this seemingly small time to best use to compromise the security of a premise.

The need for a real-time monitoring in protective systems

The above two arguments would make it evident that a better solution or an alternative to the static burglar alarms is the use of a live video monitoring system.  This sort of a system gives the advantage to the security services in that the alarm need not be set off to have an intrusion detected.

No doubt a camera system does need a far more sophistication than a simple burglar alarm system and increasingly people are being attracted to this form of protection.  Security Guard Services should be able to provide a quote to any sort of situation and it would be right that the offices of the concern are made contact with for any and all the needs.

BE Safe & Protected!

The holiday season should be a happy time when we should concentrate on being with family and enjoy the time spent together. When we run a successful and thriving business, we deserve to have guilt-free fun with nary a worry about anything. But this is the same season when robbers will want to have an incredible time too, thanks to an entitled sense of security prevailing in all of us.

Robbers are usually opportunists, they don’t commit a felony when a commercial property is fully guarded, it mostly happens when they know that there is no one to confront them or catch them in the act. Statistics from the FBI’s website says there were more than 7.9 million property crimes in 2016 alone whose losses amounted to $15.6 billion. No one wants your their business to be a statistic too, do you? ( Reference Link:  )

This time of the year an office space is filled with inventories for Christmas, laptops, furniture, electronic items, all of which are attractive to the thieves. Protecting all means of entry with metal doors, burglar alarms, and a full-time security team is a step towards security. But is that enough protection?

Here are some of the questions that you should ask for your business’ Security during this holiday season?

1.       If your regular security guys are on vacation for the holidays, have you appointed other security personnel to take care of your property?

2.       Have you vetted the new applicants for the security job?

3.       What kind of access are you giving to your security guards during the holiday season?

4.       Is there a way to monitor the activities at your premises or of the security guards?

5.       Do you have a Closed Circuit TV (CCTV) system that can see the entire periphery of the property including people walking towards your property?

Once you answer these questions in all its seriousness, you can decide to take steps towards protecting your property.

With all that said, even the knowledge that there is some form of a security system installed would be a deterrent for robbers. Numerous studies show that commercial properties that don’t have a proper security system installed are more likely to be robbed because robbers are usually on the prowl for targets that don’t involve high risk.

Have a great Holiday Season, BE Safe & Protected.

Be Safe!

How much importance do you give to physical security in your business? For many commercial ventures, it’s just complying with the safety guidelines set up by the authority and does not go beyond installing security alarms or employing a namesake security guard. The one thing they are ignorant about is vandals and thieves love to visit such places that make their entry and exit undeterred.

The reason why corporate giants are seldom bothered by such attackers is they are maintaining their physical security to the maximum by creating multiple layers to it. Yes, you heard it right. The one mistake we do by and large is making the security vulnerable, by limiting it to the very basic system. The objective of having physical security is to prevent attackers from gaining physical access and take what they want. So why not strengthen your safety by means of a layered security approach?

With increased application of technology in business, it has become even more complicated for companies to protect their assets/resources – both physical and digital. While basic security systems may alert you with sometimes false or even positive alarms, they cannot ensure timely prevention of a crime that is about to happen. A layered security approach is something where you can be rest assured that an attacker never reaches your asset/resources easily enough.

Because bypassing multiple layers of security like an alarm system/motion sensors, CCTV,  security guards and remote video surveillance etc would be really hard for any attacker and would eventually slow down his furtive plans.

Do you want to make sure your business is never an easy target for attackers?

Man in City of Dallas Jacket Loots Capital One Bank

On October 23, 2017 at approximately 9:30 a.m., the Capital One Bank in the 6100 block of Retail Road was robbed. Wearing a camo cowboy hat and a City of Dallas jacket the suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, despite the bank having a mandatory security system.

The police is still in look out of this man who looked somewhat in his mid 40s, 5’8” tall, and 170 pounds. According to them, he was wearing a reflective jacket, black Jordan basketball shorts with white stripe and white mirrored sunglasses when last seen.

Though the annual report on national crime statistics (2016) released by FBI points out a continued decrease in property crimes, incidents like the above still continue.  Businesses that come without proactive security systems are easy targets for thieves as it helps them to get away with the loot easily enough.

Traditional alarm systems have long proven that they are a bad bet in preventing burglaries in time. Authorities tend to dismiss such alerts as they will normally be false and for the owners, it creates headaches in the form of penalties as well. But for those who sneak in, such alarms are allies in crime as they seldom catch the attention of authorities. If you need statistics, between 94-99 percent of burglar alarm calls made in the country are false and it costs us billions every year. No doubt many police departments tend to disregard the calls when a real alarm happens.

Most security systems have technical limitations

And it makes them poor at burglar prevention. High tech burglars these days know how to disarm such basic security alarm systems and have become skilled at avoiding the motion detectors. Besides, it takes about seconds to deliver the message, within which the robbers would have done their job. And the response time, if at all a burglar alarm is detected for real, takes around 2-3 hours even in major cities.

Even guards aren’t the best bet

Security guards are another option that many rely upon to protect their valued assets. But using guards to watch over your property only makes sense if you have a large area that needs surveillance or if you have multiple buildings. Besides guards are more likely to show up late or fall asleep during duty or may get attacked by robbers leading to more expenses apart from the high cost of maintaining them.

The reason why alarm machines and CCTV cannot function alone is they come unmanned. And the reason why security guards fail to proactively prevent crime is they are not armed with information. So to avail foolproof protection for your commercial building/business what you need is not machines and men working independently of each other. You need them working together.
